Aspen defeats Colorado Springs- Finishes a Perfect 5-0

The Aspen Peewee A team won five straight games in three days, celebrating the 21st Annual Fall Faceoff with a 4-2 championship win over the Colorado Springs Jr. Tigers. The Leafs outscored their opponents by a staggering 21-3 margin. Goaltender Larkin Dolan registered three shutout victories in the impressive run, while Quinn Langley led the team and tournament with 7 points (7 goals). Brooks Bond finished second on the team with 6 points, leading the team and tournament with 4 assists. Ben O'Brien recorded 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists), and defenseman Jack Pevny notched 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists). In pool play competition, Aspen defeated the Summit Lightning 3-0, the Utah Golden Eagles 5-0, the Littleton Hawks 3-1, and Arvada 6-0. In the final game, Boden Haber and Langley put Aspen up 2-0 in the first period. Dane Whiston netted the eventual game winner taking advantage of a Colorado Springs turnover late in the second period. Fisher Scott finished the scoring with just over five minutes left in the third. It was a redemption game of sorts for the Leafs and specifically the lone returner and captain Pevny, as last season the Jr. Tigers topped Aspen in the Peewee A title game. This season was a different story as the Aspen players provided themselves the opportunity to claim the Fall Faceoff championship banner on home ice after a solid team performance.
