The Aspen Recreation Center is sponsoring power skating Tuesday nights throughout the month of May at Lewis Ice Arena.  Session 1 is for younger girls and boys (preferably 2008 - 2004 birth-years) from 6:30 - 7:15pm. Session 2 is for older girls and boys (preferably 2003-1998 birth years) from 7:15 - 8:00pm.  Sessions are led by AJH Director Shaun Hathaway and other qualified AJH coaches.

The goal is to quickly improve the balance, coordination, agility, explosiveness, and skating speed of all players in attendance.  During the first two Tuesdays (May 5th and 12th), players will be immersed in technical instruction on the proper use of edges and body mechanics to maximize the skating stride and transitions.  The final two weeks (May 19th and 26th) will incorporate instruction with more movement, including resistance training and overspeed skating.  Goaltenders are highly encouraged to attend, and should expect rapid improvement without seeing any shots.  

The cost per session is $13.50 (stick and puck rate) payable to the Aspen Recreation Center at the Lewis Arena Skate Counter.  Recreation passes purchased through the ARC are accepted as payment in full for each session.  For more information, contact Shaun Hathaway: shaun@aspenjuniorhockey.com.
