Aspen Junior Hockey would like to invite everyone to participate in this years’ Ducky Derby fundraising event. The 25th Annual Aspen Rotary Ducky Derby provides all AJH players an incredible opportunity to raise money that directly offsets their hockey tuition and raises money to enhance AJH programming and the community!

Players:  Last year we only had 45 players participate, a very disappointing number considering our club is over 300 members strong.  With the right plan, motivation, and willingness to to spend some time executing, selling ducks to support this amazing community event is easy! With a $10,000 cash prize given to the owner of the winning duck, there is extra incentive to adopt a duck.  This year AJH hopes to see participation numbers in the triple digits.  Together with some effort, we can help ourselves, our hockey association, and our great community for great cause.

Tuition and Scholarships:  Last season several players paid their entire tuition from selling ducks! Sixty percent (60%) of all duck sales go directly towards paying player fees. 

Please note that in order to assist in reducing tuition costs, all players applying for a scholarship are required to participate in the duck sales program 

The bottom line is that participating in the Aspen Rotary Ducky Derby is an incredible way to teach our players to how help take accountability for paying for hockey, which can get expensive.  

PLEASE NOTE that in order to receive credit for all duck sales you must use the AJH online duck sales link, or the duck adoption papers (available in the AJH office).

The Event: The Aspen Rotary Ducky Derby is a daylong family festival and rubber-duck river race, including food and games.  Proceeds benefit local nonprofits, youth groups, scholarships and Rotary International projects.  The grand prize this year is $10,000 CASH! Join Aspen Rotary on August 13th, when 30,000 adorable yellow rubber ducks are released into Aspen's Roaring Fork River. They'll "paddle" their way to the finish line...and might just make you a winner!!! 

Date: Saturday, August 13th at Rio Grande Park

The fun and festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. and make sure you stick around for the "Duck Drop" at 2:10 p.m (Rio Grande Park, Aspen)
