Off-Ice "Dry-land" Training

OFF-ICE (DRY-LAND) TRAINING

During the 2018-19 season, AJH will take advantage of its most prized asset- the AJH shooting room, where each team will spend 30 minutes weekly (not including supplemental scheduled time) strengthening stick skills.  In addition to the shooting room, players participate in dry land activities as part of the on-ice curriculum (attendance is necessary for results).  This new function of AJH programming will led by by Finnish youth hockey director Kalle Väliaho.  The success of Finnish hockey is rooted in the athleticism and sporty lifestyle taught and practiced by all players and teams.  For dry land training examples aimed to improve agility, balance, coordination and strength, please view the presentations/videos below...
