Mark Lerose Returns to Aspen Helping to Develop Young Players

Adding tremendous experience to the AJH coaching staff, Mark Lerose has joined the Mite program as an on ice coach.  He returns to Aspen where he began his impressive career in hockey as the AJH Hockey Director and Aspen High School Varsity Coach.  For the past five years (2014-2019) Lerose served as the General Manager of the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League (the top amateur league for players ages 16-21).  In 2017, he was named the USHL General Manager of the year, building a team that finished with a 40-13-5 record (breaking the club record for number of points) and an Anderson Cup title (the first in Sioux City since 1985-86).   Prior to Sioux City, Lerose has worked as a video/skills coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins, assistant coach with the University of Wisconsin (NCAA 03/04) Sioux Fall Stampede (USHL 04/05), Everett Silvertips (WHL 07-09, 13/14), and Houston Aeros (AHL 09/10).  In 2010/11, he was the Head Coach and General Manager of the Wichita Fall Wildcats (NAHL).

"Aspen Junior Hockey is honored to have Mark rejoin our program.  Our younger players have already benefitted immensely from his presence on the ice.  Having such an impressive and accomplished hockey professional helping our program raises the bar to a new level." --Shaun Hathaway, Executive Director
