Ben Scrivens, Jenny Scrivens, and Mike Garman in Aspen to Teach Kids

The first weekend of June, Aspen goalies have an incredible opportunity to learn from the BEST.  Along with professional goalie coach Mike Garman (the leader our goaltending program—GoaliebyGarman), Ben Scrivens and his wife Jen Scrivens will be at Lewis Arena running a 3-day goaltending clinic (June 2-4).

Ben Scrivens is a former Cornell University goaltending star and NHL standout.  He still holds the Cornell record for all-time career shutouts (19).  Following his college career, he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, LA Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and the Montreal Canadians.  This past year he completed his second season for the Minsk Dynamo in the KHL (the top professional league in Russia).  His wife Jennifer is also a former Cornell University standout goaltender.  In 52 starts with the Big Red, she recorded 1,336 saves. After college she played in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) for the New York Riveters. She retired from professional hockey in 2016.

Along with Coach Garman, Ben and Jen will be leading three on-ice sessions.  To cover ice and lodging costs, AJH is only charing $100 for the three days of incredible instruction.  Mike, Ben and Jen are not charging AJH to provide their time and incredible knowledge.

The following is the schedule:

  • Friday, June 2— 4:45-5:45
  • Saturday, June 3— 11:30-12:30
  • Sunday, June 4— 9:00-10:00
