2017-18 Registration Now Open

The 2017-18 registration page is now live!  The link can be found at the top of our website under the green “Register Now!” button (direct link: HERE).  Once you reach the registration page, please scroll through all the instructions carefully.  On-ice practice schedules for the entire season are loaded onto our website under the heading CALENDAR.  Printable versions can be found by visiting: http://www.aspenjuniorhockey.com/practices.  Game schedules will be completed in mid/late September.

Below is preliminary season information for each age group:

6U/8U Mites (2012—2009 birth years): The season starts early this year for players interested in the Mile High Mites Learn to Play program (October 1—November 5) http://www.aspenjuniorhockey.com/learntoplay.  This six week program on Sunday evenings (6:30-7:15) includes introductory instruction provided Aspen Junior Hockey, full gear (head to toe) provided by the Colorado Avalanche, and an appearance by Avalanche alumni (TBA).  To register for this pre-season program, visit: https://learntoplay.nhl.com/avalanche and scroll down to “Aspen Junior Hockey.”  Immediately following the Mile High Mites program, the regular 6U and 8U season begins November 6 with practices weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays (through February 28).  The 6U and 8U Mite program is for boys AND girls (there is not a separate girls and boys program this season).  Within the Mite program structure, girls will have the opportunity to practice and play together throughout the season.

10U Squirts (2008—2007 birth years): 

  • Practices begin Monday, October 2.  
  • Teams will be registered at the Squirt A and B levels this season (Squirt C was eliminated state-wide) and will once again participate in the CDYHL.  
  • The only travel this season for league games will be to Steamboat, Summit, and Vail.  
  • All players will participate in the Aspen Fall Faceoff (October 20-22)
  • Both A and B teams will participate in the Vail Sportsmanship (November 17-19), and a front range tournament over MLK and/or President’s Day weekend.  
  • The CDYHL playoffs is open to ALL teams this season, and is scheduled for the weekend of March 2-4.  
  • The CAHA State Tournament March 9-11 is optional (more information TBA).
  • Special Fall Event: For those interested, AJH has registered a Squirt B team for play in the CAN AM Youth Hockey Tournament in Las Vegas October 27-29.  This is open to all AJH players; registration is first come, first serve.  More information about this special weekend is coming soon…

12U Peewees (2006—2005 birth years):

  • Practices begin Monday, October 2.  
  • Teams will be registered at the Peewee A and B levels this season, and double rostering will be allowed to ensure full teams.
  • The only travel this season for league games will be to Steamboat, Summit, and Vail.  
  • All players will participate in the Aspen Fall Faceoff (October 27-29)
  • Both A and B teams will participate in the Vail Sportsmanship (November 10-12), and a front range tournament over MLK and/or President’s Day weekend.  
  • The CDYHL playoffs is open to ALL teams this season, and is scheduled for the weekend of March 2-4.  
  • The CAHA State Tournament March 9-11 is optional (more information TBA).

14U Bantams (2004—2003 birth years):

  • Practices begin Monday, October 2.  
  • Teams will be registered at the Bantam A and B levels this season, and double rostering will be allowed to ensure full teams.
  • The only travel this season for league games will be to Steamboat, Summit, and Vail.  
  • All players will participate in the Aspen Fall Faceoff (October 27-29)
  • Both A and B teams will participate in the Vail Sportsmanship (November 3-5), and a front range tournament over MLK and/or President’s Day weekend.  
  • The CDYHL playoffs is open to ALL teams this season, and is scheduled for the weekend of March 2-4.

10U/12U Girls (2008—2005 birth years): 

  • Practices begin Tuesday, October 3.  
  • The 10U girls have been combined with 12U girls this season, and will once again participate in the MSGHL.  
  • The team is registered to participate in the Steamboat Adele Dombrowski Tournament November 10-12
  • The travel for league games this season is: Boulder, Gunnison, Steamboat, and New Mexico.
  • The MSGHL playoffs is open to the top six teams, and is scheduled for the weekend of February 23-25.  

14U Girls (2004—2003 birth years): 

  • Practices begin Tuesday, October 3.  
  • The team is registered to participate in the Steamboat Adele Dombrowski Tournament November 10-12
  • The travel for league games this season is: Boulder, Gunnison, Steamboat, and New Mexico.
  • The MSGHL playoffs is open to the top six teams, and is scheduled for the weekend of February 23-25.  

19U Girls (2002—1999 birth years): 

  • Practices begin Monday, October 2.  
  • The team is registered to participate in the Steamboat Adele Dombrowski Tournament November 10-12.
  • The travel for league games this season is: Boulder, Gunnison, Steamboat, and New Mexico.
  • The MSGHL playoffs is open to the top six teams, and is scheduled for the weekend of February 23-25.
