Stephanie Koller Joins Leafs Coaching Staff for 2017-18

Aspen Junior Hockey continues to bolster an impressive list of coaches for the 2017-18 season with the addition of coach Stephanie Koller.  Stephanie grew up figure skating in the greater Detroit area, training with the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club, Fraser Figure Skating Club and Detroit Figure Skating Club. She competed at the Regional and Sectional level before making the switch to short-track speedskating, training with the Wolverine Short-track Speedskating Club in metro Detroit, as well as both the Lake Placid and Marquette Olympic Training Centers.  She competed at the National level in short-track speed skating, as well as competing in the Jr Olympic speed-skating trials in 1995.

Stephanie moved to Aspen in 1999, and has made it her home, raising her daughters Kaiya and Mahlia and son Mica. She was a coach for the Aspen Skating Club for 7 years, and is making her return to the ice assisting AJH as the Leafs PowerSkating Coach.  Stephanie believes that a successful skater is one who is able to apply both their skills and strength in the most efficient manner in order to gain their greatest power.  She is "delighted to have the opportunity to coach young hockey players how to apply necessary skills gained through her Powerskating classes to their hockey."  Coach Koller will hit the ice when the official season begins November 6.
