Entering its third season as a member of the 14U AA Girls league, the Aspen Leafs take to the ice this weekend to host the first of four league events.  This marks the team's first home series as the defending Rocky Mountain District champions.  Last season the Leafs made history winning Districts and advancing the USA Hockey National tournament.  This weekend Aspen faces off against the Lady Roughriders, New Mexico and Littleton.  In December, the team travels to Littleton for the second league event series.  

The 14UAA team is compilation of top players from Aspen and other mountain communities.  The 14U league was formed three years ago in an attempt to provide elite supplemental competition for players throughout the state.  With three teams from Colorado, New Mexico joins the mix this season to complete the four-team league sanctioned by the Colorado Amateur Hockey Association.  Games will be played at Lewis Arena Saturday and Sunday.
