27th Annual Ducky Derby August 11 Helps Offset AJH Tuition
Aspen Junior Hockey would like to invite everyone to participate in the 27th Annual Aspen Rotary Ducky Derby. This fundraising event provides all AJH players an incredible opportunity to raise money to directly offset their hockey tuition, while helping to enhance AJH programming and our community!
The Event: The Aspen Rotary Ducky Derby is a daylong family festival Saturday, August 11 that includes food and games throughout Rio Grande Park. The main event is a race featuring over 30,000 rubber ducks "swimming" down a stretch of the Roaring Fork River. The grand prize for the first duck to cross the finish line is $10,000! Proceeds benefit local nonprofits, youth groups, scholarships and Rotary International projects.
AJH Tuition and Scholarship Credits: Seventy percent (70%) of all duck sales made by AJH players goes directly towards paying their season fees. In other words, players have the ability to lower or completely pay their 2018-19 season fees by selling ducks.
*Please note that in order to assist in reducing tuition costs, all players applying for a scholarship are required to participate in the duck sales program.
Other Benefits: Selling Aspen Rotary Ducks provides players incredible opportunities to experience financial accountability, practice their communication skills, and gain social confidence through community encounters. Having a sales strategy always reaps the best results.
To Participate: Starting Friday, June 22 during regular office hours, Duck Adoption papers are available for pick up in the AJH office. Jackie Ayers will walk you through all of the paperwork requirements when you pick up your adoption papers. For every duck sold, tuition credits are tracked and applied to the 2018-19 fees.

ASPEN ROTARY DUCKY DERBY AT RIO GRANDE PARK
Join Aspen Rotary and Aspen Junior Hockey on Saturday, August 11th at Rio Grande Park in downtown Aspen. The family friendly festivities begin at 11:00 am. Food, beverages, games, and fun are in abundance throughout the day. Shortly after 2:00, over 30,000 adorable yellow ducks are released into the Roaring Fork River. They'll swim their way to the finish line... and might make you a $10,000 cash prize winner! The day is a great time for socializing with friends and family. While in the park enjoying the day, be sure to visit the Aspen Junior Hockey booth.
