TEAMS 2022-23

HOCKEY IN ASPEN

Since 1972, Aspen boys have been competing against teams throughout Colorado. Currently boasting hockey from the 6U level to high school, Aspen Junior Hockey provides comprehensive player development from the start to the completion of amateur play. Aspen Junior Hockey strives to be a world-class hockey club serving to enhance our community and families with the opportunities to play and grow from the game of hockey.

All Aspen Leafs Squirt, Peewee, and Bantam teams compete in the Western Colorado Hockey League (WCHL). AJH also provides a House program for players interested in practicing without the commitment of playing games on the weekends. At the high school level, the Leafs support and feed the Aspen Skiers, who play a Varsity and Junior Varsity schedule in the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA).

Aspen Leafs Girls programs play in The Colorado Girls Hockey League (CGHL), established in the fall of 2019 to promote girls' recreational hockey throughout Colorado and surrounding areas.

League members foster and promote programs that advance the sport's principles through the spirit of competition, fair play, character development, sportsmanship, leadership, and physical fitness.

The CGHL, affiliated with USA Hockey and the Colorado Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA), which have recognized CGHL as the governing body for oversight of Girl's teams competing in the 19U, 15U, 12U, and 10U age groups that compete as recreational teams at the "A" level of competition.

Membership in the CGHL is available to amateur ice hockey associations that meet the eligibility requirements.

In the 2021-2022  season, Aspen merged their Girls Tier II with all WCHL programs to create the Mountain Select AA for boys and girls. This represents a Girls 12U AA showcase team, 14U AA, and 16U AA, 19U AA teams. On the boy's side, there are 10U AA, 11UAA, 12U AA, 13U AA, and boys National Bound 14U AA. The WCHL associations continue the dedication to growing and advancing players in our mountain region.
